Course Objectives​

Master Advanced Manual Techniques – Develop proficiency in MET, HVLA, Myofascial Positional Release, and cranial techniques, following Phillip Greenman’s "Walk around the temporal bone" approach for headache and migraine management.

Expand Clinical Assessment Skills – Develop advanced assessments of cervical, cranial, and musculoskeletal structures to identify headache and migraine contributors.

Integrate Evidence-Based Practices – Combine pre-course online theory with hands-on application on practical implementation of advanced manual therapy techniques.

Introduce Holistic Patient Care – Apply principles from the Headstrong Program to create functional fitness exercises and individualised treatment plans.

Support New and Returning Participants – Provide a structured learning environment for first-time attendees and those advancing their skills from the 2024 course.
Learning Outcomes
Day 1: Advanced Assessment and Manual Techniques​​

Conduct comprehensive assessments of cervical and cranial structures, identifying key headache and migraine triggers.

Perform advanced palpation and biomechanical evaluation incorporate Phillip Greenman's Cranial techniques.

Apply cranial techniques, MET, and Myofascial Positional Release for cervical and upper thoracic regions with practical application and instructor feedback.

Safely perform HVLA techniques for the cervical and thoracic spine, ensuring patient safety and recognising contraindications.
Note: This session is designed to support first-time participants while offering returning attendees the opportunity to build on and refine techniques learned in the 2024 course.
Day 2: Integration of Advanced Techniques and the Headstrong Program

Implement advanced dry needling techniques for cranial, suboccipital, and facial muscles.

Practise and refine dry needling skills with instructor guidance.

Learn and apply the Headstrong Program’s principles (empowerment, alignment, strength, and growth) to design functional fitness exercises for headache sufferers.

Integrate multiple techniques into patient-centered treatment plans, using case-based problem-solving.

Course Structure
📌 Pre-course online theory – Must be completed before practical sessions.
Day 1: Advanced Assessment & Manual Techniques

Morning: Introduction, case-based clinical assessments, red flags and differential diagnosis, cranial techniques & palpation. Hands-on practice in pairs.

Afternoon: MET, Myofascial Positional Release for headache management and HVLA techniques emphasis on contraindications, safety protocols and patient comfort.
Day 2: Integration & The Headstrong Program

Morning: Advanced Dry needling techniques, hands-on practice, and troubleshooting.

Afternoon: Headstrong exercises, case studies, and treatment integration.

David Lintonbon DO, PG BSc Cert Clin Ed MSc MEd Acu CAMHA
David has been involved nationally and internationally, in the teaching of manual medicine techniques in over 40 countries.
An accomplished lecturer, practitioner and author of a number of e-books and a groundbreaking DVD on clinical examination and the use of safe manipulation techniques, for easing headache, migraine and TMJ related head & neck pain, that practitioners will learn on this course.
David trained as an Osteopath at the British School of Osteopathy in 1985 and then completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Brighton where he was awarded the Post Graduate Certificate of Clinical Education followed by an MSc in Medical Acupuncture.
He is currently a clinical tutor & lecturer at British College of Medicine, London UK.
His skills and expertise remain in demand around the world.​
