Course Goals:

​To provide a foundational understanding of the types, aetiologies, and pathophysiology of TMJ, Headaches and Migraines.
-
To introduce participants to the principles of diagnosis, including history taking, physical examination, and the use of diagnostic criteria and tools.

To familiarize participants with basic manual therapy techniques and other non-pharmacolgical approaches for the treatment of TMJ, Headaches and Migraines. Including the use of joint mobilisation to the TMJ both inside & outside of the mouth.

To empower participants with knowledge and skills for prescribing exercises and educating patients about self-management strategies.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to:

Describe the different types of TMJ, Headaches and Migraines and their underlying causes.

Perform a comprehensive history taking and physical examination for patients presenting with headaches, identifying red flags and indications for referral.

Apply basic manual therapy techniques safely and effectively to manage headache and migraine symptoms.

Design simple exercise programs tailored to the needs of headache and migraine sufferers.

Educate patients about lifestyle modifications, self-management techniques, and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for long-term management.

David has been involved nationally and internationally, in the teaching of manual medicine techniques in over 40 countries.
An accomplished lecturer, practitioner and author of a number of e-books and a groundbreaking DVD on clinical examination and the use of safe manipulation techniques, for easing headache, migraine and TMJ related head & neck pain, that practitioners will learn on this course.
David trained as an Osteopath at the British School of Osteopathy in 1985 and then completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Brighton where he was awarded the Post Graduate Certificate of Clinical Education followed by an MSc in Medical Acupuncture.
He is currently a clinical tutor & lecturer at British College of Medicine, London UK.
His skills and expertise remain in demand around the world.
