Service Description

Course Duration: 2 Days Skill level: Basic  - 14 CPD hours ​Who this course is for: Participants who have completed IMM Dry Needling/Medical Acupuncture Course (Level 1). Participants who have completed a basic acupuncture course and be working as a healthcare practitioner. Course Description The basic scalp acupuncture workshop will introduce the origin and development of scalp acupuncture (SA), the location of stimulation areas and indications, the manipulations and cautions of scalp acupuncture and its clinical applications and sample case treatments.  After the course, participants will understand basic brain knowledge of Chinese medicine and western medicine, may bring back the basic skills of SA location, indication and technique, and start to practice SA on your own clinic patients.  General course structure:  Day 1 •    the origin and development of scalp acupuncture •    Review of scalp and brain theory knowledge •    Location of scalp acupuncture areas 1, including practice workshop 1 •    Location of scalp acupuncture areas 2, including practice workshop 2 Day 2 •    Scalp acupuncture needling and demonstration •    Practice of location and needling, workshop 3 •    SA sample treatment 1: neurological conditions  •    SA sample treatment 2: mental conditions with practice Notes: During the practical class, participants are expected to administer and receive needling. Scalp Acupuncture is covered by general acupuncture,  if in doubt contact your insurer accordingly. Participants are required to complete the 2-day workshop for attainment of CPD Certificate. About the Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Tianjun Wang graduated from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) in 1989. He completed his PhD on Acupuncture for Depression at NJUCM. Tianjun moved to the UK and joined the University of East London UK as a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Acupuncture Clinic 2007- 2014. Current Prof. Wang is the Principal of the London Academy of Chinese Acupuncture UK (LACA). He is a Guest Professor of NJUCM. Prof. Wang is the Vice President of the Scalp Acupuncture Committee of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and the president of the Academy of Scalp Acupuncture UK (ASA), the honorary president of the Chinese Acupuncture and herbal Medicine Alliance UK (CAHMA).
