DAY 1 COURSE OUTLINE Pre-reading prior to the practical session, you will learn: • Contraindications and precautions • Dry Needling safety • Adverse events • How to deal with adverse events • Red flags • Use of MSK Ashi points and their application An introduction to the main meridians. Pain physiology The impact of acupuncture needle insertion and its effects on the patient. Practical Class You will learn safe and effective DN/Acupuncture points used to treat common MSK problems. This will include the neck, shoulder elbow wrist and hand. The thoracic spine, lumbar spine, pelvis hip buttock sacroiliac joints knee ankle and foot. You will finish the course feeling confident in patient safety and needling skills. COURSE SUMMARY IMM Tutors will safely teach you how to use DN/Medical Acupuncture to treat common MSK problems. During this 2-day course (1 day of pre reading) you will learn the theory of modern dry needling/medical acupuncture; contraindications; specific acupuncture techniques for the pelvis, sacroiliac joint; lumbar; cervical; shoulder; elbow; wrist; hand; Knee; foot & ankle. This course is perfect to use in conjunction with manual therapy. On completion of the course you will be able to competently & safely carry out acupuncture to the spine & periphery. You will be awarded a 14-hour CPD Certificate at the end of the course. Level 1 meets all professional and indemnity insurance requirements.
